Zidasht Village

Zidasht is a mountainous area with numerous valleys and therefore, is considered a resort village. It covers an area of around 50 square kilometers. Zidasht and its fields are located in lowlands and are engulfed by mountains and valleys. They are especially beautiful in spring when trees form into green velvet and show off their red, yellow, blue, white, and purple flowers. White winter in this area is no less enchanting than spring. With the completion of the dam project, all the farming land and gardens en route were immersed in water and farming was entirely banished. People who for many years lived near the Shahroud River encountered a new form of water accumulation.

The above changes led to the formation of a unique lake in Zidasht turning the village into a tourist attraction. Zidasht is the first village in a series of villages that form Taleqan and is considered to be the Hormoz Strait of the region. The distance between Tehran’s Azadi Sq. and turn-away road to Taleqan is 104 km and around 36 km from the beginning of the turn-away road to the village which can be traveled in about 1.5 hours. There are mountains, valleys, rivers, springs, numerous gardens, and farming lands in the area. People in Zidasht are warm and hospitable with a great sense of humor. They are very humble and free from arrogance and self-conceit. Therefore, they detest ostentatious, arrogant people and are free from obsequious behavior. The word Zidasht itself consists of Zi (living) and Dasht (plain). Thus, Zidasht designates people, who live in a plain and certainly, because our ancestors considered it a green, beautiful plain satiated with water, chose to reside in the area.
